*lost* an incorrect statement is incorrect in any language. Please show us a statement from the bOrg that confirms that a JW will be DFd for association with a child that never joined the church.

last week a friend of mine contacted me out of the blue asking if we could have lunch together.
my friend has been studing with the jw's on and off for about 11-12 years i think.
she has told me everytime i see her that she can't wait for jehovah to end this evil world...she can't wait for the new system...the end is so close....etc.. i sent her a message back telling her that i left the jw's and asked her if she had heard that.

yesterday morning i got a message from my friend, the one i shared ttatt with last week and she wanted to meet for coffee.
this is the story/friend i'm referring to http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/251494/1/ha-take-that-watchtower-one-less-borg-for-you.. i was really nervous because since our initial visit she had told me that two of her other jw friends wanted to talk to me.
after a little more prodding she admitted that her friends didn't accept what their own wt said about god's name and they wanted to talk to me to "bring me back to the truth.".
There is no painless way out of the bOrg *lost*. Researching the church documents independently is much better than just getting your enlightenment from both Elders and apostates and should be encouraged.

You didn't do a terrible job, you did a great job except for one mistake and I really hope that mistake doesn't get you a poke in the eye from the bOrg.
Can she use a WTCD? If she can, you can get her using that to find the incriminating statements you are referring to.

From the 2010 Elder's manual, page 60 under Determining Whether a Judicial Committee Should Be Formed: Brazen conduct, loose conduct:
Willful, continued, unnecessary association with disfellowshipped nonrelatives despite repeated councel.
Note that they have to not only be DF, they also have to be nonrelatives before a JC should be formed.

If you are wearing an ugly shirt, a deaf person will tell you it is ugly to your face and tell you it should be thrown away.
I have had deaf people tell me personally, you are too fat, you are gaining to much weight, you don't look good in that shirt.
That's a symptom of an Aspie.
No, I don't know much about deaf or ASL. I assumed from the OP that she could read English.
I also assume that not all deaf are Aspies and that if I was deaf I wouldn't be too pleased about people describing me as also being Aspie, but I am a bit Aspie myself and not deaf at all, so what would I know?

So what i suggest is, you go and tell them you are a member of an ''apostate '' club and you have been having
discussions on all of these things and ask them the questions you are asking here. See what they say.
I'm not that stupid. What they would do is besides the point. The OP insisted that, "If you disagree with this and you talk to me, you will be df'ed. If you get baptized and your kids don't accept the "truth" and you continue to talk to them, you will be df'ed.", which says nothing about if your kids ID themselves as enemies of the Watchtower.
you say you were never baptised, those that are baptised get treated very differently to those who are not.
I know that, but there was no distinction made to the potential convert according to the OP.
I don't know what you do, but if I'm talking to a Dub, or a potential recruit, I word any statements very carefully so that there is no chance of being accused of dishonesty or deceit. I want them to go and look it up in their literature to prove me wrong and quickly find out that they were in the wrong and owe me an apology ...... and I don't want them doing that to me.

Brother of the Hawk, you need to read my posts more carefully. I'm not attacking anything except the tactics of trooo believer bOrgites. My posts are cautionary and from my experiences and the experiences of many on this forum.
.... and ..... I don't know who is deaf and who isn't and wonder if that comment is verging on offensive to deaf people.

I am truly sorry to hear that happened to your brother, Newly Enlightened, but what happened is not relevent to the statement that was made.
Just because an individual chooses to go beyond the WT's rules by shunning a non-believer who was never baptised, doesn't make their behaviour official bOrg policy and non-adherance a DFing offense. Any JW who knows how to defend their cult will know that, and use it against you.
I've never been baptised and I've never been shunned. I have never been DF or DA, I'm not gay, I'm never seen in a KH except at funerals & weddings, and I don't ride a bicycle. Please show me an article that clearly demonstrates that my parents should be DFd for associating with me? That is what a JW defending their cult should ask you to do, especially if they are trying not to lose a potential convert.
JW's permit themselves to lie and cheat in defense of the bOrg, but we have to be seen to be better than that. The bOrg portrays us as liars, they in turn, portray us as liars to their new recruits and they will use any mistake we make to polish their image and trash ours, so we have to be squeeky clean when we make statements. If you make ten correct assertions and one wrong one, which one will they want to talk about with their 'student'?

Black Sheep: Gojira's Dad & I were JW's for 45+ yrs each, so believe me, we do kind of know what we're talking about. So if you haven't read Ray Franz's book Crisis of Conscience pgs 357-377 I highly recommend it.
Hi, Newly Enlightened
My parents were baptised members of this cult for over a decade before I was born in the early 50's, so I do kind of know what I am talking about.
Yes, I have read my copy of COC.
For having WT literature to back up what we say here it is:
WT 1980 9/15 pg 25:
That article does not back up the assertion that, "If you get baptized and your kids don't accept the "truth" and you continue to talk to them, you will be df'ed."
Please demonstrate how you are going to defend the accusation from a JW that you are lying about it being inevitable that you will be DF'd for not shunning your non-believing children, when this article you quoted says nothing about getting expelled from the church for associating with your own children that never joined the church? That is not the only 'out' either, as you should well know, as there is no ruling to DF parent who refuse to shun their 'drifted' kids.
If I am wrong, please provide the documentation.
Thanks
Chris

If you get baptized and your kids don't accept the "truth" and you continue to talk to them, you will be df'ed." She then said again she will not shun her kids and every time she did I said but if you are baptized you will be df'ed. I think by about the 3rd or 4th time of me saying that she started to get it.
I bet you can't find a single WT article to back up that statement with. If she confronts any JW who knows their stuff with that, they will use your statement to accuse you of being a liar ...... and she will have no way of proving that you are not. If I was you, I would study up what they really do teach about relationships with unbaptised family members and fix any errors before a JW gets a chance to use your words to trash your character.
